The session is under way!

So far we’ve advanced a bill to cut state aid to cities, counties and NRDs.   This was an important “test vote” for those of us who want to cut spending to balance our budget, rather than raise taxes.  The bill advanced with enough votes to break a filibuster– a good sign.

I’ve introduced several bills this session on a variety of topics– from protecting the privacy of those injured in accidents, to ending the never-ending appeals process in criminal cases, to reforming our bizarre campaign finance laws, to reforming the CIR– the list goes on.  We’ll see how they all work out.
