The Legislative Oversight Committee is responsible for directing the work of the Division of Legislative Oversight, which houses the Legislative Audit Office, the Office of Inspector General of Nebraska Child Welfare, and the Office of Inspector General of the Nebraska Correctional System. The Division of Legislative Oversight provides the Legislature with information to improve and enhance the operation of state government.
The Legislative Oversight Committee is a nine-member committee, composed of the Speaker of the Legislature, the chairs of the Executive Board, Appropriations, Judiciary, Health and Human Services, and four at-large members selected by the Executive Board.
