I have asked members to reserve the following dates for the Legislature to work during the early evening hours:
Wednesday, March 18;
Thursday, March 19;
Monday, March 23;
Tuesday, March 24;
Wednesday, March 25;
Monday, March 30;
Tuesday, March 31;
Wednesday, April 1;
Tuesday, April 7; and
Wednesday, April 8.
The adjournment time for a scheduled “late night” will be around 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. or later (potentially as late as 11:59 p.m.). The specific adjournment time each evening will be dependent upon the Body’s progress on that day’s agenda.
We will have a half-hour recess for dinner around 5:30 p.m. each scheduled late night. I have asked that members remain in the Capitol during the dinner break to allow votes and calls of the house to take place without disruption after the 30-minute break.
These dates are “reserved late nights” some of which I may cancel. I will provide as much notice as possible of such a cancellation. However, a cancelled “late night” may still mean working through the dinner hour (without a break) and then adjourning sometime early evening.
Additionally, beginning Monday, March 23rd, the lunch recess will be shortened to an hour from noon until 1:00 p.m.
On the last day of our work week (March 12, 20, 26, and April 2) we will work through the lunch hour and adjourn between 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. dependent upon our progress that day.
From this point forward, we will begin each day at 9:00 a.m. unless otherwise announced.
